ACMA Blocks More Sites
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has moved to block five more illegal gambling websites. The sites include Slot Lounge, Betzillo, FastSpin99, Spinit, and PokiesPros.
These operators offered online gambling services without a licence in Australia. Because of this, they breached the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. By removing access to these sites, ACMA is making online gambling safer for local players.
Stronger Enforcement Since 2019
Since November 2019, ACMA has asked internet providers to block more than 1,322 sites. In addition, over 220 gambling operators have exited the Australian market since new rules began in 2017.
This shows a clear trend: regulators keep raising pressure, and more companies choose to leave rather than face penalties. As a result, Australian players face fewer risks from unlicensed operators.
