Brightstar Lottery Launches After IGT Rebrand
The Brightstar Lottery launch starts a new chapter for IGT. International Game Technology (IGT) will soon trade as Brightstar Lottery. This change follows the sale of IGT’s Gaming and Digital business. The deal should close by 1 July 2025. Voyager Parent, owned by Apollo Global Management, will buy the business. Brightstar will focus solely on the lottery industry. It aims to lead with innovation and reliability.
Why the IGT Rebrand Matters: Brightstar Lottery’s New Focus
The Brightstar Lottery launch is not just a name change. It follows a trend seen when Scientific Games split its gaming and lottery divisions, showing the value of focused business strategies. Apollo, which recently acquired Everi, is now bringing together two major players in the gaming and lottery world.
Brightstar will focus on being a lottery operator, technology provider, instant ticker provider, and game creator. The company already serves 90 lotteries across six continents and supplies technology to 26 of the 46 regulated lottery jurisdictions in the US.
Leadership’s Vision for Brightstar Lottery
CEO Vince Sadusky shared, “We have a nearly 50-year history of reliability, innovation and leadership in lottery, a bedrock from which we are launching Brightstar with a future-forward mindset.” Executive Chair Marco Sala added, “Brightstar will be well-positioned to focus on driving innovation and growing the potential of the lottery business responsibly for the entertainment of players, the success of our customers and the support of the good causes they fund in their communities.”
What’s Next for Lottery Fans and Operators?
With the Brightstar Lottery launch, the company aims to meet the changing needs of players and operators. As digital adoption grows and player expectations shift, Brightstar’s new identity reflects its commitment to leading the industry.
